Course justification

The director of H.T.C. Italy (Healthcare Training Center) collaborates institutionally with the
Institute of Public Health of the Andrés Bello University (Chile) and the Higher School of
Health Policies of the University of Bologna (Italy) since 2012 with the execution of specialization postgraduate courses. In the last five years, the institutions have focused on offering spaces for scientific and professional study to postgraduate students.
The course proposed in September 2022 is configured as a “Scientific and professionalization internship” carried out through the virtual modality.
We develop a high-quality scientific program using remote communication technologies.
Together with academics from the University of Bologna and experts from the sector, we have chosen the relevant topics to present in the ten conferences that make up the axis of the course, the debates and group work will be the corollaries that will offer quality to individual and collective learning. of students enrolled in the internship.
Taking into account the calendar for carrying out the programming of the Italian Health Service, the month of September allows to have better data on the results of the strategies used from the moment of entering the pandemic and, hopefully, also those used to exit. definitely hers.

Objectives and contents

The purpose of the internship is to present and make known in depth the structural and
systemic services of one of the best valued Free and Universal Access Public Health Services in the world. The Health Service of the Emilia-Romagna Region is a virtuous example of quality, efficiency, effectiveness and equity in health care and prevention in the assigned population.
During the internship we will compare the European models of public health with the Italian system and
we will know the experiences and health organizations that represent scientific references for
healthcare in Italy. Registered participants will be able to reflect on the problems and solutions that health organizations offer to Italian citizens. Much attention will be paid to the presentation of health networks, both territorial and hospital, and to the paradigm shift that means strengthening prevention and continuity of care networks within the primary health system.
The links between scientific research, health care and the need to manage information systems will be the corollaries that we will propose as study topics to the participants.
The comparison between own work experiences, those presented by international experts and the actors responsible for Italian health structures, will be part of the internship methodology. At the end of the two weeks of study and training, the participants will be able to evaluate the different
aspects of the professional and scientific exchange offered jointly by UNAB, the University of Bologna and H.T.C. Italy.

Methodology

The program lasts two weeks, 9 days of intensive study from Tuesday to Friday the first week and from Monday to Friday the second week.
10 theoretical conferences are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (6 days)
taught by academics and health experts.
Study groups and individual study are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays (3 days). These moments are led by academic tutors.
On Friday afternoon (2 days) correction of tasks where the participants will be guided by
specialists from different areas and academic tutors.
The lectures will be in Italian and simultaneously translated into Spanish.
